Because I spec’d out a 2018 to pretty much fully loaded, and over $60k CAD for a Mustang GT? That’s hardcore CP territory. And guess what? You can pay even more than that. I guess I’ll have to go the Ecoboost route if I want one, or go used (used being preferred, because the 2018 is ugly).

Yep a used 15-17 V8 is definitely the right choice, especially given how fast these depreciate.

Yeah, I’m with you there.
Granted, the 2012 Boss 302 is still my goal at some point (and also much cheaper than a new GT).

You’ll have a ton of color combo/package options too on the used market. They make soooo many of these every year

I’d be interested to see what the average actual selling price is, though. I’d guess it’s substantially less than sticker.

I’d hope so. The GT premium is already $48k CAD, so this generation has had a huge price increase from last year.

wow that’s a jump in price and more that a new Camaro. I paid nowhere near that for my almost fully loaded 17 Camaro, the top tier 50th anniversary cars topped at$55k with everything.

I think the 18 looks fine, but no better than the 17. Anyway, when I was looking earlier this year, the 15 and 16 were deeply discounted. It may still be in reach, depending on your reach, of course.

Keep in mind this is also Canadian pricing, but yeah, GT Premium prices jumped by about $4k.

People told me for years to buy used, and I ignored it. Worried it would be harder to get financing, worried there would be unknown problems, bothered by sitting on someone else’s farts. Bought a new Kia, bought a new Chevy Sonic, bought a new Mustang...and then this July I bought a used Mustang, and I couldn’t be happier. Mine had 32k miles on the clock and the only real issue I have with it is the paint should have been taken care of better by the previous owner. But I now own a car that stickered at $42,000 2 years ago and I only paid $25,000.
My point being if you want one it’s not out of reach, just wait for it to hit your budget.

In USD a “loaded” ‘18 is around $55k. Which is too much, you can get a lightly used GT350 for less and if you could, why wouldn’t you?

Depends on what I was buying the car for. I would want the 10 speed auto if i was going to be drag racing, already seen some facebook posts of bone stock 5.0's with the 10 speed clicking 12 flats.

$60k is ridiculous, even if you can afford it! I don’t understand how they manage to charge so much more up here: case in point, I was looking at lightly used GT350s...even after the exchange rate, they’re cheaper in the states right now!
That said, the fact that most people just pay w/o complaint is probably why I’ve always managed to get killer deals on cars...

Sure, but you also wouldn’t want a GT350 for drag racing. It’s not slow, but it’s not a drag car.

I loved the 17 when I first saw it (still do). I then saw the 18 on display at the National Auto Show in DC last year and people were making a big deal (I think it was one of the first public appearances) and I saw and was completely underwhelmed.
It looks boxy and kind of chubby, the front fascia’s just make it look sad.
Somewhere in my head I imagined a poor 17, sitting on the lot and feeling abandoned. Depression started to set in and then it started over-eating...and that’s how we got the 18. A chubby, sad version of the 17.
